Then my fortune began slowly to turn in the right direction. After much hunting in vain, I discovered a truly helpful utility that I had never heard of before – The Ultimate Troubleshooter, regularly updated from a company aptly named Answers That Work
(). While this utility's title is a tiny bit overstated, it does track every single program you have running in the background on your computer and – unlike other similar programs – provides excellent recommendations about which should be disabled because of a deep reliable database of reported problems
with each background task. TUT, as it is called, allowed me to remove a lot of intrusive and unnecessary programs (running lots of games often causes these background tasks to proliferate). Using this great utility really improved my computer's performance a lot, solving some of the issues and causing the computer to reboot less frequently.
