TUT on Windows 8 64-bit |
TUT works on Windows 7 64-bit and on Windows 8 64-bit. We use it every day on all 64-bit versions of Windows 7. However, TUT is a 32-bit program. It shows all 32-bit tasks that are running, but it will not show the 64-bit tasks that are running. That said, at this point in time,
October 2012, there is still very very little software which is 64-bit. On Win7
and Win8 64-bit the programs you see in the Task Manager and which are not shown in TUT are almost always 64-bit background Microsoft tasks and services which are integral to Windows 7 /
Windows 8 and all of them need to be running anyway. In contrast, the vast majority of software you can buy or download is 32-bit software and this will show in TUT, and so, despite this relatively small limitation, we find TUT to be
just as effective at optimizing Windows 7 / Windows 8 64-bit as it is with Windows 7 /
Windows 8 32-bit, simply because 64-bit software is still not with us yet.
