Error connecting to TUT's Database - Need latest MDAC and JET drivers
If you get the error "Not a valid password. There was an error connecting to TUT's database. Need latest MDAC and JET drivers", then in most cases doing a Windows Update to pick up the latest Microsoft database updates and fixes, and then re-installing TUT solves the problem.
Do this as follows :
- Uninstall TUT from the "Add/Remove Programs" program icon in the Control Panel.
- Delete the "AnswersThatWork" folder that you will find under "C:\Program Files" (use Windows Explorer, or "My Computer", whichever you are most comfortable with).
- Reboot.
- Do a Windows Update by going to
(using Internet Explorer) and installing ALL critical updates but also ALL optional updates
except for hardware updates.
- Download either your current TUT version from the web page below, or, if you do not know your current version, download version 3.00 ONLY from this page (this is important stick to version 3.00) :
- Install TUT.
- Reboot.
- Test.
If you have Windows XP SP2 then you may need additional steps described under
Data Execution Error on the previous page.
