Well, Well. Once in a while one witnesses something so moving it stays with you forever.

This happened today. It is so so unfortunate that the World's financial troubles have quickly relegated this "Event" to the inside pages, but there is no doubt in my mind that Barack Obama's speech on Race today is historic. No question.

Northern Rock Bank collapse in the UK. Crédit Agricole $1.3 billion loss in France. HSBC $17 billion sub-prime credit losses (gee, how can an organization lose $17 billion and still be standing!!?), Merrill Lynch $7.8 billion loss, Citigroup $9.8 billion losses, and now Bear Stearns.
